Has anybody realized that about 25% of all commercials now star animated bears? And 5% of those bears are defecating?

Seems to me that one can get away with quite a bit in this world, despite how fun it is for us young'uns to bemoan our lack of a social voice.

I think my age group has an enormous social voice actually, to the extent that we dictate trends and fads. Britney, anyone? Tobey and Kirstin? Tara Lipinski?

Those of us who who are at odds with being society's constant bitch need to stop, umm, spending so much time at odds. Maybe speak out a little more instead of playing powerless in our basements to which we have been relegated making macaroni art with our anti-depressants.

But don't you dare once complain about how hard your life is in your online diaries... Because, brothas and sistas, I tell you this: the very fact that we have online diaries means we are the lucky ones. We are certainly not starving. We are certainly not fearing for our lives under a table in some war-torn country that sews our khakis. I think we are pretty damn well off. Brothas and sistas, can you hear me? Testify!

Maybe I am too old to keep pretending I am sad. Maybe I am too proud to rip off Thom Yorke's art and call myself "ugly". Sigh... I just want to be thankful. And I don't mean that in a Christian saying-grace way. I apologize for being so positive. I know that you don't expect me to be so...

But I am not too proud to say that life is good.
