dying thread

I got this weird message tonight, on my machine, as I was browsing through my archives of thousands of digital camera photos, trying to find one to share with you:

"error asking thread to die!"

That just reeks of a virus, or something... can anyone explain this to me (Michael? Where are you?)

But then, after some wine, I looked at this picture, and thought it was a beautiful site... except that one of these things is not like the other. The bridge is an eyesore.

Hey, I love bridges, and all, but I would be perfectly content in a world before concrete roads and motor-cars. Give me some quiet! Give me some truth!

I wonder what our friend Plywood Pete has to say about all this... He should be quite vocal about the destruction of trees, after all:
